See it before you go in

The raid

Go in. Loot it. Get out.

Everything you take in is on the line. Everything you bring out is yours to keep.

  1. The loadout screen: a Colt M1911 in the sidearm slot, kit slots and the stash of guns, grenades and dressings. 01 · Headquarters

    Gear up

Pick a rifle and a sidearm, pack rounds and dressings, and choose where you go in. The pouch keeps two things safe if you fall.

  2. Searching a sideboard in a house: the kit panel lists what it holds beside the kit and the bag. 02 · The village

    Loot everything

Armoires, chests, desks and the dead. Cognac, medals and silver, and with luck a painting or a gold ingot worth more than the rest of the raid.

  3. An M1 Garand raised in the fields on a rainy dawn, a soldier of the garrison running across ahead. 03 · The garrison

    Survive the fight

Riflemen, machine guns and scoped marksmen hold the streets. Every wound bleeds until you dress it, and nothing heals on its own.

  4. The map with three minutes and twenty seconds left: the extractions, their distances and the orders still open. 04 · Extraction

    Make it out

Leave by road, train, half-track, with a resistance guide or by flare. Die, or let the clock run out, and you keep only your pouch.

Saint-Roch

A village worth the risk

Fog at dawn, storms in the afternoon, a lamp by the crossroads at night. Every raid draws its own hour and weather, and the garrison sees less in the dark.

Why you’ll go back

No two raids the same

  • Forty minutes, then the bombers

Every raid draws its own hour, weather, way in and ways out. When the clock runs out, the bombers flatten the town and whoever is still in it.

  • Bring three friends

Go in as a squad of up to four, or open the raid to another squad and share the village. Downed friends can be got back up. Friendly fire is on.

  • A garrison that fights back

They notice you slowly and hear everything. They take cover, flank, throw grenades and search where they lost you, and a tank patrols the farm roads.

  • Guns that behave

Thirty-one period guns of three armies. Bullets drop and go through doors and hedges, every automatic has its own recoil, and there is no crosshair.

  • Wounds that stay

Nothing heals on its own. Dressings stop the bleeding, morphine brings you back, and a fall from a roof hurts.

  • A whole valley to raid

Over fifty houses to climb, an abbey, a command bunker and twelve guarded places out in the country, from a radar station to a château.
